Individual Learner Update
Steps to Modify an Individual Learner's External ID:
Access Learners Section: Visit the Learners Page in the VCC.
Locate Learner: Use the search function to find the specific learner you wish to update.
Edit Learner Details: Click on the learner’s account and look for the pencil icon. This will direct you to the learner’s detail page.
Update External ID: Locate the 'External ID' field and input the new or updated ID.
Submit Changes: Ensure you hit 'Submit' to save the changes.

Bulk Update Procedure
If you need to update External IDs for multiple learners simultaneously, follow these steps:
Access Bulk Edit Feature: With 'Modify' or 'Admin' permissions, navigate to the 'Manage Learners Report' in the VCC. Click on 'Edit Multiple Learners'.
2. Download Template: A pop-up message will appear, allowing you to download the CSV bulk edit template.
3. Edit Template: Use Google Sheets to work with the CSV template. A new column, 'External User ID', is available for updates.
4. Complete Required Fields: The mandatory field is the user's email. Additional information, like External User ID, can be added as needed. Once filled, download the CSV file.
5. Upload File: Submit the completed CSV file using the 'Choose File' button in the VCC.
Note: Common errors occur if the header row is altered. Ensure using the latest version of the template to avoid issues.
- You will receive a confirmation message upon successful upload.
- The system will process the edits over the next few minutes.
- Learner data will be available for confirmation in the Learner Profile approximately 10 minutes after upload.
- Updated data will reflect in the 'Manage Learners Report' following the next data pipeline run, typically within 2 hours.
